in addition (and this was discussed in some long thread who knows where), perhaps treechat can shake the "Follow" paradigm ... who wants to follow . . .
maybe Treechat can change to "Connect". you connect with other users and see their content. They can connect back with you.

this sounds appealing, but unfortunately we are trying to reduce the "novelty surface area" as much as possible bc people are already struggling to understand the platform... so the challenge is to basically copy prior art on anything that is not a core innovation of treechat to maintain as much familiarity as possible
