it is difficult to do this in one dimensional tools because conversation threads and their contents, stories, ideation, information sharing must be mixed together with other topics when you go on a tangent, when you return to thinking about the previous topic the content is no longer there

this means that if you want to really explore some idea but have a tangent you hesitate to start because you know it will break up the context on the thing you really wanted to talk about and so you dont risk it
